Restaurant Review: Hotel Samrat at Ghatkopar

Mom’s travelling for work so the lunch had to be managed by us. The 3 of us are craving for delicious punjabi food. Now it’s a Sunday afternoon and we’re simply too lazy to travel anywhere far away. We look at all the available options in Ghatkopar(east) and unanimously decide on Hotel Samrat.
It took us less than 2 mins we’re there. It’s quite a pleasant Sunday so we decide to take the non A/C table downstairs. We’ve been here a couple of times and it’s strictly for food. The ambience is just very ok.
We’re super hungry so we dive directly to the main course. We ordered roasted Masala papad to keep our hungry tummies entertained till our main course arrives. The papad was bad. I mean how can one get Masala papad wrong.
Anyways the main course arrives. We had ordered 2 vegetables Veg. Hyderabadi and Paneer Pune Masala. Both the vegetables were very tasty. The flavours were quite different than the usual Kolhapuri and Paneer butter Masala. We really enjoyed the vegetables.
In breads we ordered Butter Naan, Garlic Naan and Kashmiri Naan. To our surprise all were made of wheat, very well made, mildly crispy with a pleasant chewing experience till the very last bite. Kashmiri Naan was one of the nicest we’ve had. Sweetness was just right with good amount of stuffing.
Our lunch ended with Masala Chaas. It tasted more like curd based phudina chutney with tadka. Not bad.
The bill came upto 750. At 250 per head we returned home with our tummies full and a smile on our face.
